I make artwork to embrace minimalism with a playful and thoughtful perspective. My guide in the process of making is touch and for the resulting objects to elevate their function and define new silhouettes or structures.
My path is intuitive while allowing myself to make both rational and irrational decisions. I relish the exploration of building with clay in lines, planes, solid forms, and empty spaces while embracing symmetry or asymmetry. Pressing rhythmically with my fingers, I examine geometry, gesture, and creating composition through color and form.
Somewhere between contemporary minimalist art and design and the richness of folk art, my work honors ritual and meditation.
